At exploration for reconstruction a year later, the entire plastic shotgun
casing was found embedded in the proximal carpal tunnel. (4) Wood
impaling the index finger ulnar digital nerve one month following injury.
(5) Wood splinters lodged in the flexor tendon sheath. (6) Intraoperative
fluoroscopy is essential for removal of radiopaque foreign bodies. The
small piece of shrapnel lodged within the finger flexor tendon moved over
a one inch excursion with finger motion.
