Treatment Principles
Treatment is individualized for each of these injuries. Some residual deformity is to be expected in any of the acute traumatic injuries. Posttraumatic attritional ruptures are treated in the same fashion as nontraumatic attritional ruptures, with either tendon transfer or intercalated tendon graft rather than primary repair.
