SEARCH TIPS
Searching the constantly changing web can be frustrating. The most common retrieval problems are: no results, a huge number of irrelevant results, or links to pages which are inaccessible.  Here are a few suggestions for efficient searching.

Search Tip 1. Get familiar with a few search engines. A good group might be:

  • Generic Web search (e.g., Altavista (4))
  • Medical Web Search (e.g. MedNets (44))
  • Medline (PubMed (58))
  • Hand / Orthopaedic Web Search (e.g. OrthoSearch (52))
  • Hand / Orthopaedic Portal (e.g. OrthoGate (54))
Search Tip 2. Learn at least simple syntax for each to improve the efficiency of your searching and browsing search results.
