Camptodactyly release therapy

The following program is used for camptodactyly postoperatively when the finger has been released but no tendon transfer has been performed.

1 week:

The postoperative dressing is removed.

Edema control is initiated as needed.

A safe position gutter splint is fitted to the ring and small fingers to be worn between exercises and at night. Active range of motion exercises are initiated 15 minutes/hour to all joints. Full PM motion is permitted.

4 weeks:

Passive range of motion exercises are initiated as needed.

6 weeks:

Progressive strengthening exercises are initiated.
