Radial posterior interosseous nerve repair therapy

0 - 2 weeks:

Postoperative dressing is changed as needed, and the patient is fitted with a dynamic radial nerve splint at the earliest opportunity.

2 weeks:

Sutures are removed and the patient is started on strength maintenance of antagonist muscles. The patient is started on scar massage and desensitization.

6 weeks:

Components of the splint are reduced over the next several months in accordance with ongoing recovery. Splinting is continued until function joint range is achieve with trick motion, recovery, or tendon transfers.
